From the editorial team of The Collation, we wish all of our readers a peaceful, safe, and calm end of the calendar year. Whether you’re celebrating a holiday (or two or three), the break between terms, or a solstice, we extend you our best wishes. We are so grateful to everyone who makes this blog happen: our Folger staff writers, the legion of guest authors, and, of course, you our readers.

When I walked into a Panera’s near my office in December several years ago, I wondered how my Jewish friends would feel about the lavish Christmas decorations there.
So it occured to me that “Christmas comes but once a year, but every Sabbath is a challah-day.”
Happy thanks to Erin Blake for the charming (vintage) card.
A busy winter scene, complete with hand-drawn sled and
dog. (Erin, I’ll view your post later this week.)
Wishing all at Collation a blessed & joyful holiday season
(and keep your ‘Crocodile Mystery’ posts a-comin’:
they keep us sharp, quick, imaginative), MEM
